Otemusic.com is a multi-media website for On
The Edge Entertainment, (an independent record label, distributed by Bungalo/Universal) and
home for it's recording artist, offering a variety of
entertainment related services.
Our website, www.otemusic.com was launched May, 2005 with traffic rankings totaling over 5 million plus hits, within and 8 month period reported by ALEXA.com, (an independent third party internet traffic reporting company) on January 7th, 2006.
Mission:
Our mission is to create a networking environment for aspiring entertainment career oriented professionals. The music business of today
can be sluggish. Major record labels deal mainly in
their own product, and independent labels focus almost
exclusively on big name guaranteed sellers. From our
perspective they seem to be using an outdated strategy
of focusing on radio hits.
So what hap pens to the smaller
releases, the ones that sell between twenty and fifty
thousand copies? An artist may or may not have the opportunity to get a record deal distributed by a major label. Distributors and concert
promoters don't have much interest in these unknown
records, so they get shelved waiting for the record
company to make something happen. These labels continually attempt to make ends meet, unsuccessfully. The world would be clueless of the label and/or artist. We motivate to never give up your dream unless you don't like to win.
At OTE, our plan is to go straight
to the source. Are online marketing methodologies inclusive but not limited to internet, clubs, print, multi-media
college radio, top 40, dance & power radio and hot-mix
shows. Today's buying public aggressively seeks any opportunity to enjoy good music. Today's top artists rap about
current issues like drugs, sex, gangs and violence.
These issues really hit home. This is why the records
are going platinum, and why the music should be broken
from the streets. As an independent, wholly-owned
record label, the artists and producers are given the
freedom and control to take their music to the next
level. The commercial restraints present at other labels
are simply non-existent at OTE. The creative restrictions
set forth at other labels are also non-existent. At
On The Edge Entertainment, individuality is not only
cultivated and encouraged, it's expected. |
